Dr. Onur İSTE, Ph.D. /J.S.D.
He is one of the constitutive partners of İste & İste Law Firm.
He graduated from Istanbul Commerce University Faculty of Law in 2006.
In 2007, he was admitted to the Istanbul Bar Association as an attorney.
In 2008, he participated as a scholarship exchange student at South Texas College of Law (Houston, USA), focusing on intellectual property, mediation, and Constitutional Law, (particularly the First Amendment of the American Constitution concerning freedom of expression). Through this education, he earned the qualification to serve as a mediator in the state of Texas, USA.
He completed his master’s thesis titled “Compensation Due to Protective Measures” successfully and was awarded master’s degree from the Marmara University Public Law Department in 2009.
He achieved his Doctor of Law degree by successfully defending his doctoral thesis on “Manipulation Crimes in Capital Market Law (Articles 107-108 of the Capital Markets Law No. 6362)” at Marmara University, Department of Public Law.
His co-authored article, “An Analysis of the Benefit Element in Information-Based Manipulation Crimes Under Article 107/2 of the Capital Markets Law,” was published in the peer-reviewed Marmara University Faculty of Law Journal of Legal Studies.
He lectures on “banking law” and “insurance law” at Yeni Yüzyıl University.
He specializes broadly in criminal law, with a particular focus on economic crimes, including capital market crimes, banking crimes, and cybercrimes. He provides legal consultancy services in the preparation of company mergers, share transfer agreements, commercial contracts, and analysis of the legal process related to investment strategies. He also represents clients in litigation and arbitration processes. He has significant experience in disputes related to tender processes under the Public Procurement Law, including administrative judiciary processes.
Besides his legal practice, he serves as a mediator in private law disputes and holds the title of Expert Mediator in Labor Law and Commercial Law.
He has been awarded the mentor title as part of the Istanbul Bar Association’s Mentor Lawyer Project.
He has participated in many panels and seminars as a speaker and presented papers. In addition to his roles in various civil society organizations, he has served on several committees of the Istanbul Bar Association and is currently a member of the Law Sociology and Philosophy Committee.
His special interests include philosophy and maritime culture.
He is proficient in Turkish and English.
